Spring!!!

It seems like spring is now here!!! (I hope)

Bryan, Brylee and I have been loving it too!!!

This week Bryan, Brylee, and I took the doggies for a walk to the park and then back home. We also have been working out in the yard and on Thursday Bryan cut the lawn, and I got the the wonderful task of pulling weeds.
Brylee seems to love being out side. I have been sitting her in her Bumppo chair and in the car seat and letting her soak up a little sun.

I couldn't resist taking these pics of her, she looks so cute in yellow!

Brylee's new and favorite thing to do is to eat her hands, I'm praying that she will take a binkie and not her thumb!

Happy Easter!!!

Sorry, I know I haven't posted anything in so long!

Easter was great!!!
Brylee and I stared off Easter by going to church while Bryan slept from working the night before.

Church was nice and Brylee got to wear her cute Easter dress that Grandma Hope bought her. At church everyone around us was making cute little faces at Brylee and I was told that she is the cutest baby! (but we knew that already)

After church Brylee and I came home and woke up Bryan. We then looked at what the Easter bunny got Brylee. The Easter bunny gave Brylee a cute Spring dress, hand puppet duck, a cow rattle, and binkies. Brylee really didn't seem to care, but it was still fun to start the tradition of the Easter bunny!

After checking out Brylee's basket we went to Me ma and Grandpa Gaitin's we had dinner and got to visit with Great Uncle Jeff and Great Grandma Sandy. It was so nice to have them back home from Arizona and this was the first time that Brylee was able to see them. Bryan and I missed you two a lot!!!

After dinner Brylee and I went to Grandma and Grandpa Hope's house, while Bryan went to work. Brylee and I got there just in time for the Easter egg hunt! Brylee found almost seven dollars. However, I think that she was more interested in the plastic eggs that raddled then really what was inside, lol.

Anyways, Easter was great!!! The weather was nice and it was great to spend time with our family!!! It was so nice to have Great Grandma Sandy and Great Uncle Jeff home!!! Brylee is so Blessed as our Bryan and I to have you! Jeff we hope to see you before 3 years!!!

Here are some fun pictures from the day!!!

Brylee's Dedication

Sunday was Brylee's dedication, it turned out to be a great day, besides all the snow that came! I know that Bryan and I made the right decision to have Brylee dedicated.
If you don't know what a dedication is. Its a brief ceremony in which the parents make a commitment before the Lord to submit a child to God’s will and to raise that child according to God’s Word and God’s ways. The parents responsibilities in a Dedication are to making a promise to the Lord to do everything within their power to raise the child in a godly way, and prayerfully until the child can make a decision on her own to follow God. The parents who make this vow of commitment are instructed to raise the child in the ways of God, such as His values, and His principles. Some of the responsibilities include teaching the child in God’s Word, demonstrating an example of godliness, disciplining according to God’s ways, and praying earnestly for the child.

I hope this makes it a little bit easier for those of you that weren't entirely clear.

Along with Brylee's dedication Bryan and I had to chose a Life Verse that Brylee can use to guide her through her life.
Bryan and I chose 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7
"Love is patient & kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures though every circumstance."

Bryan and I really wanted to let everyone that came know that we really appreciate you coming on Brylee and our special day! It was really nice to have all of our family there with us! Thank you for all your support!!! It really meant a lot to us!

Here are some pictures of the day!

Brylee's 2 month Check up!

Brylee went to the Doctor on Monday for her 2 month Check up, it was soo sad she had to get 4 shots! She got one oral, 2 in one thigh and 1 in her other thigh. She did a lot better then I thought she would, I gave her Tylenol before we went and it seemed to work. But, it was still hard to see her on the table crying and I couldn't do a thing about it.

The doctor said that she looks great and he also congratulated me on keeping her well feed! LOL

Brylee now weighs a BIG whopping
13 lbs. 11oz!!!
I was in shock when I saw the scale! I told the nurse that I thought that she weighed no more then 13 lbs. The nurse told me to try again, "ummm... how about 14 lbs."

Anyways here are Brylee's totals:

At 2 months:
Head: 39.2 cm 49%
Length: 23.5 in 78%
Weight: 13 lb 11 oz 91%
At 1 month:
Weight: 11 lb 12oz 94%

At 2 weeks old:
Head: 35.9 cm 47%
Length: 22 in 93%
Weight: 9lb 2 oz 72%

At 1 week old:
Head: 35.7 cm 53%
Length: 20.5 in 74%
Weight: 8lb 10 oz 72%

At Birth:
Length: 20.5 in 74%

St. Patricks Day

I can't believe how quick March has come and gone!!!
Last week was St. Patricks Day and so I decided that Brylee needed to wear a cute GREEN outfit, to keep up with Holiday tradition.
Also, I knew that Me-ma would be upset if I didn't get a cute picture with Brylee and the bib that she got her!

Here are a few pictures of her!

Brylee was having a rough day!

We still don't really know what her problem was!
(I guess it's just a Girl Thing)

Brylee at 2 months

Brylee seems to keep getting bigger in a Blink of a eye!

I know I say that in every blog, but I really can't believe that my little girl is getting so big. I cannot believe that she is now 2 months old!

Brylee is now smiling and cooing a lot more and her little personality is definitely starting to show! Her little smile just makes my heart melt, and I can help but smile back at her. She truly is the best thing that I have ever did!

Her is a little video of her playing with her rattle.

(Look at all those rolls!!!)
lol

And

I couldn't help but put this little video of her and her daddy on here too!

Brylee and her daddy definitely have a bond! They are soo cute together!

Sorry that we haven't posted in a while!

Things have just gotten soo crazy since I went back to work, I'll try to be better!

Rachel's 1st week back to work!!!

On Monday I started back to work and thought that I was going to go crazy! Even though I fully know that Scott is fully capable of taking care of Brylee while Bryan was coming home from work. The thought of just not being able to be with her for a full 8 1/2 hours, made me want to cry! I wanted to call every minute to see how she was doing. Bryan said that she did well. It is soo cute to see him with her, he is such a good daddy! I know that going back to work is the best thing for our family and I hope that it will get a little easier to leave her to go to work.

Anyways work went well this week besides it felt like time was at a total stand still! Work has also been great with letting me pump and I hope that they will continue to be. Also to answer many peoples questions, no I was not involved in the inmate escaping. But on that side note I just want to say that everyone makes mistakes and this was a BIG mistake, I am still proud that I work for Weber County Jail!

Our Valentines Day

Even though the dogs ate the Valentines Cookies that Brylee and I wanted to give. Valentines turned out to be a lot of fun this year!
With Brylee celebrating her first Valentines day it made it extra fun!

This year Bryan and I had to celebrate the holiday a little early. We went out on Friday night and Grandma and Grandpa Hope babysat Brylee for the first time (I think that they were really excited about this). Bryan had to work Valentines night, but it turned out to be really nice because we got a babysitter and we didn't have such a wait to get into a restaurant.

Bryan took me out to dinner at Boston's, and he also got me a pretty nice valentines gift! Bryan bought me a new bed spread (our old one was not looking too great), and he also bought me FLOWERS!!! I almost fell over when I saw them! Bryan hardly ever gets them for me. I was so excited to see that he remembered!
I got Bryan a Valentines gift as well I got him balloons and candy (lame I know).

Brylee really lucked out! She got Valentines gifts from us and from Grandma & Grandpa Hope they got her a cute bee book & a stuffed bee and ladybug that talk.

Bryan and I were so excited to have a new little Valentine to share, we love our little Brylee Anne!

Our Little Valentine, Brylee Anne

This is as close as I have ever got to getting her to smile!!!

She recently has learned how to blow bubbles with her mouth, and loves it!

Valentines went to the dogs!

This year I thought that Brylee and I would be cute and make cut-out sugar cookies. I thought that it would be fun to give them to our loved ones.

If Bryan has never told you I have the worst luck with cut-out sugar cookies. It always seems that the cookies never keep the cut-out form. The cookies end up looking like a big blob of something!
I've be told that it's because add too much butter, or not enough flour, or that I cut them to thick.

So needless to say I was a little worried about making the cookies!
However, this time I have to report that I finally made them right and the cookies looked great!!! I would even go so far to say they looked PERFECT!!!

I was soo excited!!! I finally figured it out!

After making the cookies I realized that I had no frosting or even powder sugar so I ran to the store with Brylee to get some.
Well in the mean time.... Ronin and Roxy had other plans for my perfect cookies!
Ronin must have jumped up and grabbed the towel that the cookies where cooling on and pulled them to the floor! Then Roxy and him took the cookies outside!!!

When I got home with the frosting (all excited to decorate) I found cookie crumbs all over the floor and half ate cookies outside in the snow!!! I was so mad I wanted to cry!!! MY PERFECT COOKIES!!! MY VALENTINES!!! Needless to say the dogs went to there canals for the rest of the night and my Valentines went to the dogs! :(

Here are the sad pictures of my perfect cookies....

Ronin the criminal

&

Roxy the accomplice.

Luckily Ronin and Roxy didn't manage to get all of the cookies, I had 10 cookies left out of 30. So this a a couple of them that I got to decorate.

Brylee's Photo Shoot

At 4 weeks Brylee had her first photo shoot. (Well "professional shoot" that is.) Sandrine did an incredible job. We couldn't be happier. Here are some of our favorites from the group.

Enjoy!
